There are not many cities in America where you will ever see an authentic mandolin orchestra.
Only one is the oldest mandolin orchestra in the world and it’s based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The MMO in 2015

The MMO wrapped up 2014 and started 2015 with two wonderful concerts:

  • FirstNight in Evanston, Illinois (Dec 31)
  • Italian Classics, at the Milwaukee Art Museum (January 4)

In December, Rene Izquierdo, our talented and dynamic Musical Director,  celebrated his one-year anniversary with the MMO.  His plans for the Orchestra include more concerts, challenging and fun repertoire, and an intense focus on getting the best sound out of the ensemble.

More music and more mandolins - we're pretty sure our 2015 concert series is going to be pretty exciting.

No rest for the MMO! The very next night after the MAM concert, we were back at it.  Here's an inside peek at our rehearsal as we did our first read-through of the Bach Brandenburg Concerto #3.
